Crafts

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I have been in a really crafty mood lately.  It all started when I was frustrated after preschool one day.  I didn’t know where I was going to put Meredith’s new backpack.  I decided I was going to paint a new “Mud Room” in my garage.  I got out the chalkboard paint and a piece of wood.  I also thought it would be a great place to put the kids chores.

The rest are pumpkins for the fall season.  I love fall!  It’s my favorite time of the year!  Thanks Melanie for the cute idea!

Next on the crafting list is painting a cute bench for Parkers room.  (I have no idea how it will fit in there!)  and a princess picture from for Meredith’s room.  I’m sure I will have more by this weekend–it is a tradition to always craft on Priesthood Meeting night.

Goofy Kids

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

My favorite time of day is when the kids get kind of rowdy and make each other laugh.  They both try to out do each other by falling down or tackling each other.  It’s really cute.  These pictures are just a couple of times I was lucky to get it on camera.  Parker found Meredith’s winter hat and decided to put it on.  It was so stinking funny I had to run for the camera!  Both kids are so unique in their own way.  I love you kids!

Quick Mini Vacation

Monday, September 29th, 2008

We finally went on a mini vacation last week.  We had the opportunity to go to the cabin at Sundance.  It was beautiful!  The leaves are just starting to change.  We got to the cabin Wednesday night.  Meredith and Parker have such a hard time sleeping in a new place.  I think they both were finally asleep about 11:30.  Lucky for us, both kids were up by 7:00 a.m.  We got to ride the chair lift.  With Scott’s family connections we were able to ride for free!  It was fun.  The weather was beautiful, but very windy.  We went for a hike to Stewart Falls.  Meredith was a trooper!    She hiked the whole way up and the whole way back!  The kids loved to sit by the river and throw rocks in.  It was all fun and games until Meredith had a rouge rock hit me in the jaw.  Ouch!  Grandpa and Grandma came up Thursday night.  The kids ate snacks, read books, ate more snack, played with dolls–Did I mention eating snacks?  Meredith finally fell to sleep in my arms!  (This never happens!)  Both kids were asleep fairly early!  But of course up again by 7:00!  Friday, our final day we cleaned the cabin, visited the new family cabin site, and rode the chair lift again.  Meredith was SO excited to ride again only to have her fall to sleep on the way up and sleep until we got off on the bottom!  We made it home a little before 5.  Just in time for Scott to help out at a ward service project.  Whew!

We had a quick, wonderful trip.  All of us were worn out and it was very nice to sleep in our own beds!

What a manic Wednesday

Finally I have a blog!  Thanks to my sweet husband who burned the candle at both ends last night just to get this done–and especially doing it to get me off his backside.  Life has been pretty hectic since the summer began.  I never knew life could be so crazy with only two children.  Unfortunately, today Meredith has the flu and has been throwing up since 3 this morning.  So I will pose a question to all you bloggers out there, why do children start throwing up in the middle of the night?
