Potty Training 101

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Today I decided to purchase Parker underwear…Scott told me, “Do NOT call them panties!”  I’m too use to calling them that!  Anyway, I put them on Parker.  He is so stinking cute!  They are HUGE on him.  They only carry 2-3T and nothing smaller, but I figure he can grow into them.  I’m not really sure he is ready, but he has been doing really well today.  I’m not going to push him, but when we are home I will let him wear his undies.  Look how cute my little guy is!

Proud Mom Moment

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

All those who don’t want to hear potty talk don’t read this!

I had a Proud Mom Moment today.  Wednesday afternoon is my time to spend alone with Parker.  We were hanging out and he got his “Poop face”  on and said, “Momma pooh, pooh.”  Before he had time to do anything in the diaper I ran him to the bathroom.  We sat in the bathroom for a bit while I was teaching him how to push it out.  He went a little #1 and I cheered up a storm!  We called both sets of grandparents.  After he said he was done.  I pulled him off and we went back to playing.  A few minutes later he said he needed to go potty again, so again we rush off.  He sits down and goes #1 again but this time he learned his lesson.  He would go #1 and stop (I’m thinking he was done) and I would cheer him on.  Then he would start again and then stop and of course I would cheer again!  He did this several times!  Pretty smart guy!  After a bit he said he was done.  We went downstairs to cook dinner.  While I was peeling potatoes he said, “Momma, pooh, pooh.”  We ran in and he really did go #2 in the toilet.  I am so proud of him!  Way to go little buddy!

FHE

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Monday we had FHE with our friends.  We has so much fun!  We ate pizza and carved pumpkins.  My favorite part of the evening was to walk to a neighbors house and take pictures of their HUGE pumpkins.  They are awesome!  Meredith loved the evening so much, Scott over heard her asking her friend Abby if she could live at her house!  But Abby’s response is NOT what she wanted to hear.  Abby said, “No you have to live at your house!”  So much for living the dream!

Spooky Halloween

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Saturday night Grandpa and Grandma had their annual Halloween party.  It’s a great way for all the grandkids to show off their costumes.  We ate pizza and played games.  Scott even dressed up this year showing off this true colors!

Halloween and Dancing

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Meredith has been looking forward to dance class this week because it was their Halloween party.  I was excited because they let parents stay and watch.  It was so stinking cute!  Meredith is lucky to have her best friend Abby in her class.  And to top it all off, Abby was Cinderella too!

Fire Station

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

The kids and I, along with our friends Erin and Jack, went and toured the SLC fire station.  They showed us the common area, the kitchen, but the coolest thing was the pole.  They even let us ride in the actual fire truck!  (I don’t think the kids were as impressed as I was!)  When we were finishing up they even received a call!  About 3 or 4 firemen slid down the pole and we watched them drive away with the lights on.  Unfortunately, Meredith was less than impressed!  She told me next time we go to a fire station we need to make sure it’s a princess fire station.  She said it was all for boys!

Family Night

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Monday night we went to Gardner Village with our friends the Wiggins to take a tractor ride with a witch.  It was really fun!  Parker loves tractors.  The ride all together only took about 10 minutes but the kids liked it.  Meredith is understanding Halloween this year and it makes it really fun for us.  After the tractor ride, we stopped into the bakery and had a little treat.  On the way home Meredith and Parker picked out the Christmas lights (Halloween lights)  Parker is starting to have little friends.  His best buddy is “Handsome Jack Wiggins!”

Prayer of the Same Innocent Child

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Tonight Meredith also gave family prayers.  Here is her prayer, “Heavenly Father we are thankful for this family.  We are thankful for Iron Man.  We are thankful for Mommy, Daddy, Parker, Me and Meredith.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”  Great prayer!

WHAT DID SHE SAY?!

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Tonight at my parents house Meredith had to run in and go to the bathroom.  She accidentally walked in on Nathan (6) while he was going to the bathroom.  As I was rushing her to the other bathroom she says, “Mom, Nathan has the same privates as Parker.”  Where did that come from?

October almost 1/2 over

Friday, October 10th, 2008

I can’t believe October is almost 1/2 over!  Where does time go?  We decided this year to grow our own pumpkins.  Unfortunately I’m not the best gardener in the world, but we did get a few.  It looks like Meredith is choking Parker!  She just loves him so much!
