Snow Day

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

I really don’t like playing in the snow.  I hate being cold.  Meredith has been begging me to go outside to play since it snowed and I have been dragging my feet.  I had a good excuse up until earlier this week (Parker didn’t have snow pants–our neighbor gave us a pair that fit just perfect.)  Finally yesterday after an earlier snowstorm Tuesday I broke down and let them go outside to play.  Which was a bonus since I had to dig a path the fire hydrant.  The kids loved it!  Meredith did snow angels–not sure where she learned that!  She loved the huge snow mound in front of our neighbors house.  Parker didn’t quite know what to do–he just sat there eating the snow.  Yes thats right it was the snow from the street.  (The kid grosses me out a ton!)  I don’t think the kids would have ever come in the house.  There were tears, but after a promise to go out again soon they quit crying.

Little Decorator

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Meredith has been enjoying our Christmas tree this year and I have been enjoying having a newly decorated tree everyday.  She loves to rearrange the ornaments!  Aunt Annie gave us a Nativity set that is wood which we put under the tree.  The kids LOVE playing with it.  The picture shows what fun they have!

And so these are the days of our lives…

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Yesterday was one of the longest days of my entire life!  It started off at 4:00 a.m. with Scott getting the flu and running to the bathroom.  (Never a good sign)  Followed up with the noise waking Parker,  him coming to bed with me about 5:00 a.m.  Going to the staircase and smelling a horrible smell.  Poor Scott was trying to be considerate, trying to make it to the downstairs bathroom and ended up not making it to the bathroom then trying to clean the mess up himself.  After he had a turn at trying I pretty much fumigating the downstairs and spending over an hour getting it clean.  The afternoon went pretty smoothly until about 5.  Meredith comes running in and told me Parker broke her purple nail polish.  (Luckily not on the carpet.)  I had to run to the store for the second time that day to purchase nail polish remover.  I spend the next 45 minutes trying to get the purple nail polish off of the toilet, the walls and the tile.  Plus nail polish remover takes paint off of walls, so now I get to repaint!  Wow!  Am I glad yesterday is over!

Conversation with a 3 yr old

Meredith:  Mom I think I need a bra for Christmas.

Roxanne:  Really?  Why do you think you need one?

Meredith:  I need one to hold up my clothes.

My Little Butterball

Monday, December 1st, 2008

The kids always want waffles or pancakes on the weekends.  Scott is so nice to make those for them.  Sunday while we were eating, we weren’t paying attention to what little Parker was doing until Meredith said, “Mom, Parkers eating the butter.”  I looked over and started laughing.  I ran for the camera, but he got most of it off before I could get a picture.  After taking his pix, Meredith wanted hers taken.
Later Meredith was super excited to wear her new Christmas outfit.  They looked darling!  I love that they always have a cheeser!
