Cute Birthday Gift

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

You know how you are always looking for a cute birthday gift for a friend or loved one? Well, I found one that I will be using!  (Sorry to everyone who now knows what they will be getting!)  Check this out!  It is called a “Bath Sundae” it’s super easy–which I LOVE! (Though it did take my mom and me all Saturday to track everything down and still I find myself improvising!)

What you do is go to a coffee shop and beg, borrow or buy a plastic iced coffee cup with the lid.  Get one cup and lid, purchase bath salts or make your own.  Purchase a small bath poof and a straw.  I’m sure you can find the boring old straw at the coffee shop, but I found mine at Shopko.  I love them!  They are all pastel colors. I went to pay for a package of 250.  When the lady checked me out, she said my total was .27 cents.  I ran back and got 2 more packages!  Now I have 750 straws-so if you need a straw I might be able to part with one, or two or a dozen!  Anyway, back to my cute project.  Fill the cup with bath salts and put the bath poof on top, add the straw.  Now is the part I am still trying to figure out.

Add a RED bath bead as the “cherry.”  I went to about 10 different stores looking for red bath beads and didn’t find any.  SO…I made my own.  It doesn’t look as cute, but what’s a girl to do?  I need the gift tomorrow! (If anyone knows where to get red bath beads let me know) I found this cute poem on line and added it to the gift.

This very special sundae,

will leave you feeling great.

It’s chocked full of good things,

even though it can’t be ate.

Take it in the bath with you.

Of course don’t take a sip.

’cause it may look delicious,

but it’s made to take a dip!

I  made a card that looked like bubbles and added the poem.  I think it turned out so cute.  You are done!  There you have a darling gift that didn’t break the bank!

Projects, Projects, Projects

Scott and I decided it was time for us to get our food storage room finished. We didn’t really know what we had in food storage, but knew we needed to get more of it. My dad has been coming over on Saturdays and his days off of work to get it done for us. He finished it yesterday! I am so thankful to him and his willingness to help us out. I also love it because I put some of our lesser used appliances down there–now I have more pantry space! Also here is picture of my dad and Parker. Dad also looked at our dryer while he was here. Parker decided he was going to help. He ran in and get his Bob the Builder hammer, wrench and screwdriver. It was super cute!

Vinyl

It’s really been a long time since I blogged?! There is a lot going on in our household lately. Look at these darling silhouettes of the kids. Don’t you love them? They are the latest and greatest item in our vinyl line.

I LOVE how they turned out. Next week, stay tuned for the next project with vinyl!

Ode to the Saturn

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

We are sad to announce the 1993 Saturn SL2 has now bit the dust. We aren’t able to keep it up with the repairs and it’s not worth putting a ton of money into it. We already put about $330 into it this month and now who knows how much more it would take to keep it running.
I know many of you will miss the farting window, the rotting ceiling and many more fine luxury items the Saturn has to offer, but we feel it’s time to let the car RIP.
In lieu of flowers, please send money to help purchase a new car!!!

Meredith’s funny

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Meredith created a picture with her coloring all over the page and princess stickers. She used the stickers as tape and stuck it to her door. Parker being a little stinker of course ripped it off the door. Meredith came into me and said,
“Mom I am so soaking mad! Parker just ripped my princess picture off the door. I am so soaking mad!”

The only thing we can think it she was trying to say so dang mad.

My sweet little girl

Monday, February 16th, 2009

The other day I went into Meredith’s room, she had a picture of Scott and I on our wedding day in hand. I kind of freaked out wondering how she got the picture off the shelf. (It’s really high) She asked if she could have it. Now she has a wedding picture of Scott and I on her dresser in her room!

I thought it was sweet!

Birthday Pictures

Today I decided to brave taking the kids to get their birthday pictures.  I always go to Kiddie Kandids because they get a free 8×10.  A funny thing happened while I was getting Parker ready for pictures.  I chose a cute little shirt my in laws gave him for his birthday.  When I pulled it out of the closet he started yelling, “I hate that shirt!  I hate it!”  I started laughing and told him, “Buddy you don’t even know what that means, you’re only two!”  It’s a really darling shirt–he just hears naughty stuff from Meredith!

4 Years Old

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Today I feel sad!  Meredith turned 4!  My little baby!  Whatever happened to the 4 years?  We have had a fun filled week of birthdays!  Sunday we had our families over for the birthday celebrations.  Monday night Meredith and her best friend Abby had a combined birthday party.  We went to Leatherbys with the Rex’s.  Today we went to lunch with Aunt Keri and cousin Madison to the Quilted Bear.  Tonight we get to have chicken and rice for dinner, Meredith has been asking for a chicken and rice dinner for about a week now!

What a special little girl I have been entrusted with!  She is the joy of my life!  I love her to death!
